What are the odds of this?

I’m making a shiny save file, and just spent about four months trying to get a shiny starter and finally got shiny cyntaquil. Then I remember I have a second version of the game and decided to shiny hunt the other starters too. 53 resets later I get another shiny cyntaquil! What do I even do? I want totodile but this is too good.
